Cyrena Sealy, Objectified
I used to fight this “Honey” over how I present my magazine to you. She used to tell me that I am exploiting black women on the website. I would always fight back with a myriad of snooty remarks, rebuttals, sarcasm, below the belt blows and shut ups.
I don’t know what her feelings where towards me but for me there was a sense of passion and so naturally her noise hurt my feelings. We eventually lost ourselves in our individual vendettas, everything grew cold hearted (it grew our friendship apart). We can’t even stand each other anymore but that moment in time is an anchor for the laws created to govern exactly how we will represent.
In between all the fighting I was doing Cyrena’s interview and the website was still called HIPHOPONE. I named the interview “FINE ART” and herein lays the root of the fights. To many women, women are not to be “objectified”, it’s an evil thing to do (so they say).
But I think her interpretation of a woman as an object has been tarnished somewhere along her life because she has individual demons that gathered through several abusive situations, I pray for her (when I remember). I want her to be successful, even if she hates me.
Cyrena Sealy in my opinion is an example of GOD taking a chisel to a stone and carving out a woman. Dangerously gorgeous, she has the curves that can only be matched by the Sahara desert hills and someone like her should be admired by you. She should get her pictures taken and every time she does it she has to remember not to sell out and keep it to a point where she tells the world a new story.
IMO she is an object for those who have the eyes to see what beauty is. The crucial difference between a statue created by the greatest craftsmen and her is that she breathes air.
Air fuels her soul and I think that’s where objectifying can turn negative because someone who doesn’t recognize the critical detail of what makes her a WOMAN won’t treat her with respect. As long as the keyword “respect” is embedded in what we do and how we do it, I think that it’s ok for us to think that women are objects (that we desire).
To anyone who may not know who you are, introduce yourself to them. I am C. Sealy a business owner, graphic designer, among other things residing in Atlanta.
We have not heard from you in a long time Cyrena; tell the world what you have been up to? Not much different from before, still designing and doing my graphics. Preparing to go back to school to get my degree in GD
A lot has changed since we last met, do you like what we have done with the place It has changed, but for the better. You know what to do; I like the new site
The pictures you take are different than most eyecandy models When it comes to many of the eyecandy models, you get the same thing, lingerie, bathing suits, and the usual. I have done both, I just was tired of the same old thing. I have more on the way.
What do you think of the state of the modeling industry at this time? It has a long way to go; many of the men in this industry do not take many of the women serious. Some of the women do not take this type of job serious. You really have to come in with your game face on and know what you want and how to handle certain situations, they will come at you at all angles. It is just how it goes.
TekNiq thinks your one of the most beautiful people on MXyMAG right now. That is definitely an honor to hear especially being that you come across many of women and I am sure very attractive. It makes me feel good and I know I am doing something right and will continue to do so.
