Ciji Michelle Carr, One More Day

Even though we are quickly ascending in to the ranks of being one of the most entertaining business magazines I still have to acknowledge the eyecandy magazines out there. There is a lot of competition out there for us. Every day I see about 10 sites shut down only to be replaced by 20 more sites. Every day that our site exists we ask ourselves what can we do to be better than yesterday and every new day I believe that we get better than the day before.

As an owner to this service I know that we have a following of business men and women, political figures, heavyweights and yourself and I’m proud. I’m especially proud with the amount of women who visit the website every day. I think I would do everyone involved a disservice if I did not have a state of mind of trying to improve on what’s already established.

One thing that makes MXyMAG.com better is that we maintain long term business relationships with our models. We treat them as an extension of the MXySTAFF. Another keyword that separates us from them is that we don’t push for eyecandy models.  We push for women. Women who are movers and shakers in what they do (no pun intended). Women who are in constant positions where they have to make executive decisions. Women who are comfortable in their body and they know how to show their sexy without compromising their integrity.

Today’s Covergirl perfectly fits in to that mould, her name is Ciji Michelle and she is not just a model aside from modelling her resume has her interviewing a lot of your favorite celebrities. On top of that she has been developing a magazine from the ground up for the past 2 years. So I can relate to the politics she goes through with the people involved. Another stand out about Ciji is not just her modelling it’s her pull on Facebook. I remember writing; some models have some of the most entertaining walls ever. Ciji is one of them I can get lost in the replies below her status sometimes it’s intense, other times its rowdy while there are times when it’s nothing but laughter but it’s always entertaining. The entertaining part of her carried over in to yet another top notch interview delivered on MXyMAG.com. Enjoy!

How have you been? I’m wonderful…. very good, Thanks

It’s been years since we did your last interview. Yeah, it’s been a minute. I’m just happy you brought me back, that first spread was hot.

Yea it is still hot but that’s how we do. You came in right when we started maturing with our content yeah, MXyMAG.com is definitely a well rounded magazine. The articles touch on all topics. Topics that I can relate to, I think most people can as well. Plus I’ve always liked that you kept the class in your magazine along with the sexiness. I stopped modeling, but I had to come back to do your magazine!

Thanks for the love we are glad to have you back. To the fans who may not know who you are, let them know who who you are and what you do Well My name is Ciji Michelle (pronounced C.G) and I’m a journalist  that just so happens to model from time to time depending on my mood and the project. I try to have fun with it as it comes.

You’re not a model? I don’t know, I just think I was over the whole thing. I started doing it as fun and then it stopped being fun to me. I love taking pictures and I love being able to open a magazine and see myself in it, that’s such a good feeling, but I was always a behind the scenes person and I recently chose to keep my focus there.

One of your funniest quotes was “don’t confuse me with a Facebook model” what’s the difference between you and a facebook model? I said that???

I think so, can’t remember… I hope it was you… LOL Well, a Facebook or Myspace model is someone who just posts pics on those social sites and then automatically claims to be a model. A lot of people post that they are doing this and that and a lot of it is just a facade. Having pictures online did not make me a model. I just wanted to make it clear that I have done a lot of work aside from taking pictures and my success as a model is not based on how many comments I get on a picture.

I think it’s sad. Some girls aren’t aware that this world is actually a business. I personally wouldn’t have a Facebook account if I didn’t have MXyMAG.com is there any message that you want to get across to women coming in? Yes, you can’t accept every job that you are offered, most of them come with a not so good price in the end. Also, have fun with it and enjoy the perks of the job, but while you’re out network and always be professional at all times. Also pictures can still be sexy with clothes on, and relationships with those you work with are 9 times out of 10 a bad idea, so try to avoid them.

I love coming to your Face book page I can do entire case studies on there. How do you feel about the amount of comments your statuses get? I love it… my Face book friends are very supportive and I love conversing with a lot of them. It’s hilarious most of the time. I swear sometimes I can just sit back and laugh all day at some of the things people say on there.

I hear a lot of horror stories from models and random men on Face book, you ever go through that? Yeah, but I go through it in real life too along with the rest of the world. Most of the men are just trying to compliment me, not offend me. Some are over bearing, but I don’t think that anyone has crossed the “stalker line” with me as of yet. For the most part they’re just vibing with me online. For about 95 % of them that’s it, after we log off there is no communication we do not know each other in real life.

What have you been up to since the last time we saw you? I think since we last met I’ve graced a couple more magazine covers and spreads. I’m still behind the scenes writing and covering press for artists and events. I don’t think that’s ever going to change. And I’m still working on my own magazine. I’m super excited about the launch because it’s FINALLY happening after 2 long years. (laugh)

To anyone reading this, what’s your magazine about? A-GAME Magazine is an entertainment and lifestyle magazine. We do go after the celebrity stories and interviews but not in a “gossip blog” type of way. We do not focus solely on celebrities either. We report on current events and write about relevant topics in today’s society. We have an advice column as well. We are pretty much trying to cater to a mass audience not just a small percentage, although our main attraction will be the 18-35 age demographic.

Is it a huge process to launch a magazine? Yes, it is a very lengthy process. This has been a dream in the works for two years and counting. It’s very hard especially to build the right team. A-GAME Magazine coming very soon.

uh oh, that makes you competition. Lol. Yeah, but friendly competition, kind of like your sister station… lol

Do you feel that the market is competitive; I mean we aren’t just dealing with bloggers anymore we are also dealing with Face book and Twitter taking away from us being able to provide good content? I do think it’s still a competitive market. I think people are getting craftier with ways to enter the magazine world. Print is disappearing and blog sites are taking over. I still love to sit and read a hard copy magazine, but I also love being able to go online and have access to that exact same information.

and you’re ready to go? I’m just ready for my turn, as for competition… I’m use to that!

There is something that stands out to me.. I always say the hardest part in business is finding a good team I agree with you whole heartedly. Finding a solid team is very hard to do. I have a couple of people behind me that help me in my projects; they have been down for the cause since day one though. When it comes to business, I can’t work with just anyone, plus there are a lot of people with ulterior motives. I’ve learned to keep my circle very tight and solid; everyone doesn’t have your best interest in heart.

Out of all the magazine covers which one do you feel closest attached too? WOW, that’s hard to answer… I love them all! You’re not going to get me in trouble (laugh); however I will say, I have a close business relationship with the owners of Mafia & Mafia Princess Magazine as well as Enfluenz Magazine so they definitely showed me love on the covers. I might be mostly attached to my first magazine cover ever though… Shout out to Addicted Magazine.

Before we close off is there anything that you would like to tell your fans? Yes, simply put….Thank you!
