Have you ever quit what you were doing? Have you ever had days when you screamed out of frustration, didn’t feel like waking up, punched a wall, and didn’t feel like making that phone call or leaving the house?

Have you ever just sat there and a tear streams down your cheek, folded in to a ball in your bed saying frig this sh*t? I have. A lot of times. Sometimes it can be something as simple as someone telling me something stupid which completely defies my algorithm, sometimes it’s a series of major events pulling the rug from beneath my feat like a Haiti earthquake.

I remember one day I hit rock bottom and at that moment I only speak with a very limited amount of people. One of them was my long time friend. She was on the phone with me trying to counsel me and I told her there is no magic word that she can say to me to get me going. Getting me going is something that just kind of automatically happens and then I advised her that the reason why people are in constant trouble or never succeed is because when they fall off their feet they don’t lay there long enough to see the cause and effects that made them waterfall on the floor.

So some of us fall for the same mistakes over and over, never actually graduating from the lessons life is trying to teach us at the time. I say that success stories will happen when you understand that past the point of quitting there is success. That to get there you need to be at that point of quit and understand that they are both two sides of the same coin but one cannot happen without one’s ability to master the other.

Today’s interview features Chiney Marie, in our conversation we cover many topics, from haters to motivators, jealousy, Toronto, Atlanta but she jumped up when I asked her, have you ever felt like, frig this sh*t?? Enjoy the interview

Good day ma’am, what’s your name and where are you from?
My name is Chiney Marie I am from Upstate NY and now reside in Canada. 

What have you been doing lately?
I am currently promoting myself and have been featured on a few sites, just trying to get my name way out there!

A lot of models move to Atlanta, Miami or LA what made you want to move to Toronto
I LOVE Atlanta..lived there for a short time, not long enough to do any modeling…those 3 cities are dominated and over flooded with aspiring models, video vixens, etc..It’s definitely hard to stand out but I wouldn’t mind living there for modeling. 

Canada is your second home?
Canada has always been a second home to me, and I’ve always wanted to live there..more of a personal preference. 

I think Toronto is the 4^th or 5th major market in North America, right?
Not many people know that Toronto is another fashion capital and seeing that I have dual citizenship..I have the best of both worlds..And when/if I sign to an agency I can choose to work in both countries.

What is sexy to you?
Sexy to me means INNER and OUTER beauty!  Sexy is the way you carry your person, your character, your mentality, your hustle, your ambition, the way you dress, the way you speak the way you look. 

When did you first realize that you are sexy?
I don’t think I can remember the point where I realized I was sexy…it was something I felt and it exuded through my photos and now I hear it all the time =)

Every girl has a side of them that they do not like to project, what’s one personality trait most men won’t be able to guess about you?
Hahaha…let’s keep them guessing lol…

Lol, not even a little bit?
Nah but honestly a lot of men see me as a pretty face/a sexy body and they are quite fascinated when they hold a conversation with me. 

A woman who can talk just expands on her sexy
They’re even more fascinated that I can even HOLD a conversation…I’d say my intelligence.

Explain to (y)our fans why you should be number 1 on The Sweet16 Contest?
I should be number 1 on The Sweet 16 because of my dedication, and I am genuine.  My beauty is not only seen but it’s also heard and shown by my actions.  A beauty by nature and a hustler by choice.

Looking at where you are right now in your career what do you feel. Are you happy do you want to do more?
As far as where I stand, I personally am a GIVING and CARING person and have in the past worked with individuals who weren’t as fortunate as myself. I would honestly love to give back more to the community and volunteer to less fortunate individuals more often.

As a giving and caring person, do people take advantage of you? I guess it’s a given right?
Oh, definitely! I can’t honestly recall any one particular incident…but that’s with anyone..People take that kindness for weakness – they definitely use it against you!

What motivates you?
My #1 motivation of ALL time are the people who do NOT believe in what you are doing.  Despite accomplishments, and your hustle they always seem to want to try and bring you down and go about any way possible to do so. 

 And that keeps you going
HONESTLY, that only motivates me… that pushes me to go harder in all aspects..that’s something that puts me in a mind frame that is quite dangerous

Uh oh, don’t go and kill someone now

Ever been in a situation where a person you wanted to support you didn’t give that support? how did it feel?
Absolutely! Sad but true…and it didn’t feel good ..at all. 

It is one of the most helpless feelings for sure…
Especially when that person is supposed to be caring about you and loving you..that clearly showed me that this person didn’t have my best interest at heart as I did theirs.

You hate on anything? Anyone?
Hate is a strong word..if I were to hate anything, it would be those who are so unhappy with themselves that they put their own insecurities on you and try to drag your name around. When someone is unhappy with themselves they’re not seeing their own positive characteristics they instead want to bring you down because they’re jealous.

I often say that jealousy is not the negative act. It’s your actions that can make it negative
When referring to it as an act yes that is true…however, jealousy is negative period. Jealousy is a feeling that stirs another feeling called hate which is far from positive and in turn it does allow some to act negatively on a person.

what about yourself, you ever get jealous?
I don’t believe in being jealous..it’s a waste of an emotion…why be jealous when you can see someone else’s progress and use that as encouragement.  Jealousy causes one to be bitter…and misery gets you nowhere.

Fears?
Good one…I tend not to fear anything because with fear that allows for setbacks.

Lol, you’re wonder woman…
Public speaking is something that gets the butterflies going. 

How do you overcome a fear?
Overcoming any fear??  I try to do it as often as possible.

On your way to becoming a top model what were your struggles?
As an aspiring model, you run into a lot of opportunists – people who do whatever is necessary to get to the top even if it means using someone or hurting someone.  It’s understandable that people want to go to the top, but using someone for personal gain isn’t necessary. I’ve become more aware and more careful as to who I work with and who I give information to.  Just like they’re aspiring I’m aspiring as well..Let’s be fair.

you ever just sit there and think to yourself… eff this sh*t? 
OMG yes!! So glad you asked that…man sometimes I can relate to Onika (Nicki Minaj) in her song “Can Anybody Hear Me” when she says “Dear God, I am only what you made me And I appreciate everything that you gave me but like, I don’t wanna do it no more sort of lost sight of what I’m doin’ it for”…it gets overwhelming because people expect so much from you, they expect you to be PERFECT like you’re a robot and you don’t have any feelings..And then there are the people you can’t trust because the littlest things you tell them they could possibly turn it around and try and use it against you.  But then I snap back to it and realize I love this and if this is what I’m supposed to do this is what I’ll do – I enjoy it and so does the majority of my supporters so why not? Usually those feelings of “eff this shit” don’t last too long.

Person who inspires you?
My mother..she’s a  strong, independent, hard working and determined individual.  I admire her patience – which I definitely lack lol – and I admire her dedication, and self-less ways.

When you’re not in front of the camera…
When I’m not in front of the camera, I’m usually booking to be in front of the camera lol. 

Ok, and when you’re done booking you are?
I love being around friends and family but at the same time I love to just be alone to reflect on myself and find ways of reinventing myself. Since I get bored easily, I am always in a state of reinvention.

What inspires some of your recent re inventions?
I try to keep moving…nothing ever is gained at a standstill right?  Most of my inspiration comes from myself…I’m always thinking of something wild and crazy so I just do it…and at some points I see celebrities do something crazy so I put my own twist on it and then the outcome is bananas!

Spirituality
I pretty much grew up going to church.  I haven’t been in touch much, but I know that the spirit is always with me and that’s what gets me the opportunities I encounter.  I try to keep a prayer going every night and every morning.  Without the Most High, nothing would be possible.

Love Story
Love…a word that is used too loosely these days.  Love is not being able to be away from a person – you’re constantly thinking of them, but love also can be allowing that person to be free – and that’s where trust comes in.  Love is trust, love is kind, patient and true. The best way I can sum up love is 1 Corinthians 13:4-8 =)
